I am a former Special Education teacher with specialized training in literacy and phonics instruction for struggling readers. I have used the "I Can Fly" reading program with success with many of my tutoring students.
Students will be completing exercises in their workbooks during class or on their own. They can also play games related to the different lessons through the accompanying app. Additional worksheets will be offered.
Students must purchase the workbook that goes with the lessons. This will help your student with their individualized practice. Here is an Amazon link https://amzn.to/3uMmTKP. I Can Fly Reading Program With Online Games: Orton-Gillingham Based Reading Lessons for Young Students Who Struggle with Reading and May Have Dyslexia Paperback - Book B – 2014. It will be helpful for students to have additional paper, pencils, and crayons during class as well as their workbook.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Students will need to purchase a copy of the workbook. It is available on Amazon and other retailers.
