Class Experience

I am a former Special Education teacher with specialized training in literacy and phonics instruction for struggling readers. I have used the "I Can Fly" reading program with success with many of my tutoring students.
Students will be completing exercises in their workbooks during class and on their own. They can also play games related to the different lessons through the accompanying app. Additional activities will be offered.
Students must purchase the workbook that goes with the lessons. This will help your student with their individualized practice. Please let me know if the additional cost is a hardship. It is available through Amazon at this link: or you might find it elsewhere. I Can Fly - Reading Program - A, With FREE Online Games: Orton-Gillingham Based Reading Lessons for Young Students Who Struggle with Reading and May Have Dyslexia Paperback – February 1, 2014 It will be helpful for students to have additional paper, pencils, and crayons during class as well as their workbook.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Students will need to purchase a copy of the workbook. It is available on Amazon and other retailers.
