Description
Class Experience
2nd grade ELA standards: Students will develop drafts by sequencing the action or details in a story or about a topic through writing sentences. Students will be guided through notetaking process and learn to take notes, ask questions, and identify unknown words in their notes in each class. In some classes students will have 4-5 spelling words: Students will correctly spell grade-appropriate words. Students will learn about reference materials such as dictionary, thesaurus, glossary, and identifying reliable sources. Students will express an opinion about a topic and provide reasons as support. Students will organize and present their information in written and/or oral reports or display.
I hold my BA and MS in education. I have taught ELA/Reading for grades K-12. I am certified to teach ELA and Reading in Florida and Kentucky.
Homework will be assigned but it is optional. Final project will be assigned and can be completed between classes.

Written feedback will be provided to parents after every class. If students complete homework/optional assignments, I will provide feedback promptly. If students need a grade for school/homeschool records, parents can request a final grade or certificate of completion.
