Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
*THIS TUTORING IS DESIGNED TO HELP LEARNERS WITH WHATEVER THEY'LL NEED HELP WITH, FROM GRAMMAR AND SPELLING PRACTICE ALL THE WAY TO WRITING AND EDITING ESSAYS AND CREATIVE WRITING*
In this course hesitant and confident writers alike will bring their writing, whether it is complete, a work in progress, an outline, or not even started to class to brainstorm, outline, edit, and discuss with the instructor. This course is meant to be whatever the student needs it to be in a private, professional, but still friendly and motivational environment with the instructor (who is a writer herself and wants to writer to succeed). We will also touch on goal setting in our first session and in subsequent sessions touch back on those goals and evaluate how well they are being met. This course is designed to work for writers who are just getting started and want to approach a creative or educational project, perfect for school assignments, creative writing, and everything in between!
We will work together in a classroom setting to allow learners to feel more confident and at ease. Feedback will be in a group setting where possible, when applying to general best practices for writing, and individualized for individual students. Students may also send their assignments to the instructor ahead of class time for more prompt feedback.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their writing to be a perfected product and foster growth, confidence, and skill in writing.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello everyone! My name is Abbie! I finished my master's degree in library science from Drexel University in September 2023; I also hold a BA in English and journalism from the University of Delaware; some of my favorite coursework outside of my major were classes in other forms of writing, literature, art history, performing arts, and social sciences. When I am not in class, you can find me reading anything I can get my hands on and watching LOTS of Netflix. I look forward to talking to you all more!
