For eight weeks, we will read a variety of highly acclaimed books across genres. I have chosen these books to get teens excited and engaged with the writing, making them want to share their thoughts with others. This class is for the student who devours books, and because of this, we will be reading and discussing one book every other week. Students who enjoy sharing their thoughts with others either on the microphone or via the chat box will do well in this class. Students who do not like to participate will not enjoy this class or feel very successful with it. I do not force students to participate but instead expect students to discuss, engage, and pay attention during class. The books we will be discussing are: Meeting 1 - Meeting 2 - Meeting 3 - Meeting 4 - Meeting 5 - Meeting 6 - Meeting 7 - Meeting 8 - I suggest looking up the books prior to enrolling your student to make sure the choices will be a good match for your student and your family. For brand new and future releases, Goodreads often has reviews. We need 5 students for this class to run. If you enroll, please share with others who also might be interested. Thank you!
Learning Goals
Students will become more engaged and critical readers.
