Eight Weeks, Eight Books - A Book Club for Gifted Teens Who Love to Read! (New Book List)
Class experience
US Grade 8 - 11
For eight weeks, we will read a variety of highly acclaimed books across genres. I have chosen these books to get teens excited and engaged with the writing, making them want to share their thoughts with others. This class is for the student who devours books, and because of this, we will be reading and discussing one book every other week. Students who enjoy sharing their thoughts with others either on the microphone or via the chat box will do well in this class. Students who do not like...
Students will become more engaged and critical readers.
I am an experienced homeschooler who has been leading book clubs for over ten years. I have a love of literature that I share with my students. I am also experienced with students of all abilities and am patient and respectful towards everyone. I love nurturing a love of learning and reading in my students and feel that my enthusiasm rubs off onto my students which is a joy to see.

These books are YA books and deal with more mature themes including romance and social issues and some have strong language and violence on par with this age group which is teens. There are themes of religion and religious symbols and mythology (Nyxia), romance, strong language, racism, violence, parental sickness, cancer, vampires, war, PTSD, mental illness, sexism, coming of age, feminism, and death. Please look for book reviews at Common Sense Media, Amazon, Kirkus, or Goodreads. If you have any concerns, please pre-read the books. I am not responsible for the content of the books. Thank you.
