30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this one time course, young chefs will learn how to make mini egg frittatas, also known as mini egg muffins. We will discuss how to crack eggs, how to measure dry ingredients, how to scramble eggs, and how to safely use an oven. I enjoy hearing student input and discussion and do not recommend an all on mute class. I understand that the kitchen is a busy part of the house, so if it's excessively busy we will mute ourselves when necessary. I am open to all questions during class and students should feel comfortable asking questions as we go. I will be instructing and actively making the recipe alongside the young chefs so they can see how all steps should look. During class we will start with a short introduction of all learners, review materials and ingredients, and then dive into the recipe. No previous experience required, but a general knowledge of kitchen utensils and equipment is helpful. We will be completing all steps of the recipe during class, and the finished product will be finished after class is over. This is a knife free class, all necessary vegetable preparation and chopping will be completed before class. I will add the recipe and storage suggestions in the classroom section after class is complete. This recipe contains eggs, and may contain dairy depending on the type of cheese you use.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello there! My name is Mary and I'm a professionally trained chef with experience in restaurants, country clubs, catering, and institutional cooking. I love to train young chefs in the "hows" and "whys" of cooking so every meal will be delicious! I thoroughly believe in hand on instruction, for cooking there is no other way. There is a ton of math, science, and creativity involved in cooking, so I try to feature those elements as well whenever I can.
My sister is a teacher and I have learned a lot of good tips and tricks for introducing a love of literacy to young children! I enjoy reading aloud to my family and like to offer classes that involve reading and snacking!
I enjoy having inquisitive learners in my classes, you will not find a class that's all PowerPoint or an all mute class from me. I love for students to ask questions, be curious, and make comments. I love to eat, travel, read, laugh, and spend time with my kids and family. I also am passionate about arts and crafts and love to get messy once in a while with glitter!
If you have a child that's passionate about culinary arts please message me about one-on-one cooking lessons and/or sessions. I can also do private birthday parties where we can cook or bake together.
