Class Experience
In this class your young learners will be taught how to make their very own omelet! This class will be lecture and hands on learning. We will make the omelets in class. I will teach the step by step instructions on how to make a basic omelet. My teaching style is fun and entertaining. The learners will get to interact with the teacher and the other students through dialogue, question and answer, and if there is time, a show and tell portion of the class. Students will learn how to make a basic omelet. They will learn how to whisk their eggs, season their eggs, and how to properly cook and flip and omelet.
Homework for this class is to share your delicious omelet with your family and give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done!
Ham and Cheese Omelet for beginners: Utensils and Other: - Spatula - whisk or fork - small bowl for mixing - a frying pan - a sink and hand soap Ingredients: - 3 large eggs - tbsp butter - cooking spray - diced ham - shredded cheese of your choice - seasonings of your choice - salt and pepper - 1 scallion - dried chives - salsa or other desired sauces/toppings
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learner progress is assessed by the student, the parent, and the teacher. In class, we will have a show and tell portion where the students will show off their creation. We will rate the omelets appearance on a scale of 1-5. The parent and the student will try the omelet and will rate the taste on a scale of 1-5. I will assign a letter grade based upon the sum of the numbers given.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
There will be hot stoves, knives, and hot food. It is requested a parent or guardian is on standby for the safety of the student. This class includes the use of eggs. If there is an allergy or food preference, feel free to use an egg substitute.
