This class is for the student who wishes to become an advanced reader. I will work with each student, no matter their current reading level, to increase their reading level and fluency as quickly as possible.

Intermediate Level
English can be a very challenging language to learn. I am here to help! I follow the common core standards for each grade level in reading. For example, if you have a 7th grader that is reading closer to a 5th grade reading level, no problem! We will start there and work our way up! The student will learn to read at the appropriate grade level, following all common core standards.
I earned my TESOL(2019) and TEFL(2021) Certificates through VIPKid. I also hold a Teaching Certificate in special education. I taught reading, writing, and mathematics for 4 years. I taught at VIPKid for two years and enjoyed working with these children very much.
Homework Offered
The student may be asked to read a chapter, or passage on their own, and will be given comprehension questions to check their understanding of the text/writing.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Informal assessments will be given often to measure the current level of the student.Grades Offered
Students will be asked to find specific books at their school or local library. Purchasing books is not expected or required, but some parents choose to purchase books or ebooks.
