Class Experience

In this super fun, edible science class students will learn all about the different layers of our Earth and what each layer's function is, all while building an edible model of the layers. This class will include slides, songs, and discussion between the students and teacher while learning the information. Students will learn key vocabulary including mantle, core, and crust. This class is taught in English.

Students will learn about the Earth's layers and their functions.

15 large marshmallows
1 spice drop (or similar-sized candy)
1 Tbsp butter
2 cups Rice Krispy cereal
Bottle of chocolate SHELL (the stuff that hardens on ice cream, not sauce)
Large microwavable bowl
Large spoon or spatula
Microwave
Plate
Serrated knife and cutting board

55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

Parental assistance needed when using the microwave and cutting the Earth model in half.
