Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 9
In this class, we will discuss the life and work of Edgar Allan Poe, and especially his poem The Raven. We will discuss his life, his poems, his style and symbolism that he uses in The Raven. We will start with a discussion of his life, and work, then read and discuss the poem, The Raven. I will use powerpoint for illustrations and details about his life. My style is upbeat and encouraging. We will have ample time for questions, and discussion. Students will get to interact during the discussion, questions and answer sections. I will also encourage volunteer readers, and participation. If time permits, students will write their own poem. There is no prior knowledge needed.
