Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 3
In this 4 week multi-day class, students will learn about ecosystems, food chains, and different types of habitats. They will participate in group activities and create crafts and dioramas.

Week 1: Students will learn about and discuss ecosystems with a vibrant presentation. We will discuss the difference between terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems and learn about the three roles in ecosystems. We will play a group game to review this information. The students will create dioramas of the ecosystems of their choice!

Week 2: Students will learn about and discuss food chains with a vibrant presentation. They will discuss herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores and play a game to review this information. They will create a food chain model.

Weeks 3 and 4: Animal Habitats in two parts. Students will learn about and discuss 9 different types of habitats (split into 2 classes) and create dioramas of their favorites! They will compare and contrast the different habitats.

Students do not need to have any previous knowledge about these topics in order to participate in the class.

I look forward to teaching your children!
