Beginner Level
This current event social kids club of EcoKid International is designed to encourage children to make friends around the globe that have common interests about our natural world: plants, animals, environmental places, caring about our environment, environmental conservation. We will share interests and current event topics and learn from one another. Children are encouraged to explore their eco- awareness, their eco-consciousness and become inspired by peers to learn more about the world around them. Each meet-up will allocate time for learners to introduce themselves in the beginning of class and speak about interests or topics of current events they want to discuss. I will also offer a current event topic to explore for extra engagement as optional homework for kids that want to dive a bit deeper and perhaps discuss what they discovered for the next meet-up. This current events club is formatted to run as an emergent extra-curricular social club where the EcoKid International learner will guide and steer their own and collective learning but also have projects suggested by me to work on such as arts/crafts, poster making, and group projects of interest.
Learning Goals
Learners will take agency for self and collective interests to discuss environmental topics and themes.
Learners will gain inspiration from current events and become more environmental literate.
