Description
Class Experience
This is a class for teen learners to explore English as a second language in a relaxed, conversational setting. We will discuss our hobbies, our friends, movies, books, and television shows we like, our school/homeschool experiences, and make friends learning ESL! The instructor will bring a topic to class, but the conversation is allowed to flow naturally and learners are encouraged to bring up their own topics and interests. Learners will improve their understanding of conversational English through practicing new vocabulary words, pronunciation, grammar, spelling, and phonics. Learners will also improve their public speaking and listening skills as they practice introducing themselves in English and listening to their fellow learners.
This class is taught by a full time ESL teacher for children ages 5-12 who holds a Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) and an advanced TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certification.
No homework will be assigned. The teacher will send a list of vocabulary words after each class and the students are encouraged to continue practicing English at home!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
