Step by step, we will practice paragraph writing together. Learn how to create an introduction, supporting details, & conclusion. All writing will be typed on-screen. Especially helpful for dyslexic, dysgraphic, an neurodiverse learners.

Class Experience

Follows Teacher-Created Curriculum
  • Students will improve their knowledge of the writing process through weekly practice sessions. Each class follows the same format for consistency and building students' writing toolbox. You may choose to join the class for all ongoing sessions or drop in and practice as it works for your child. *This method is especially helpful for Dyslexia and Dysgraphia as we are utilizing all methods of learning. I also am writing on-screen which can help ideas flow more easily.
As a homeschool mom for many years, I discovered the visual impact of writing and this simplistic approach to mastering concepts. Students are able to take this approach to write and master the concepts from elementary, middle, high school, and college levels. Writing is a developed skill that needs to be fostered carefully and is unique to each student. Sparking their creativity is key to grasping concepts, and I truly love connecting with each student to bring out their "writing" ideas.
I have also taught this approach to students at the college level who really never grasped the whole writing process. To see them finally understand and "get it" was amazing!

* There are no required books to purchase. I will write on-screen while facilitating our class.
0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Homework

Details: Students may choose to continue to write their ideas after class and build upon what we are learning in class. This is completely optional as no particular homework is assigned. *You will have the opportunity to explore our weekly concept after class by searching our story created in class. You may want your student for example to (circle) all of the adjectives in our story. Each week we cover a new concept together.
This class supports all learning levels and abilities. Many unique learning opportunities are available for dyslexic, dysgraphic, and neurodiverse learners, by providing options for all students to achieve the best learning environment.
*There is a handout template on how we will write our paragraph in the classroom. You may print it out or bring along paper and a pencil if you'd like to handwrite our paragraph. This is optional as all writing will be provided on-screen.
Students can bring a whiteboard, dry-erase marker, pencil, paper, crayons, markers, or any other writing utensils they would like. Often students like to draw pictures with their writing and this is encouraged to help those ideas flow more easily. Our partnership approach can bring out those creative ideas and make writing truly fun!
No outside sources are needed for class.
