Class Experience

Do you want to introduce your child to songs and poems that you learned growing up? Or do you want to exercise your learner’s tongue to the many seemingly complicated songs in Tagalog? This class will focus on introducing your child to the foundation of speaking Tagalog. We will sing, move, dance, play games, talk, and discuss! This is a fun way of introducing your child to Tagalog and at the same time connecting them to new characters – this way, they will associate and remember them easily! (It’s like mixing vegetables in their food without them knowing it!) After each class, we hope that your child is able to sing and perform 1 Tagalog song for the family, just like the old times, right?

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been a Montessori teacher for more than 10 years until I became a School Director. I enjoy all the different hats an educator and school administrator wears and juggles but admittedly, teaching is my first and original love.
I came from a HUGE family, I am child #11 in a household of 12 children! We are a very close, tight-knit family and I always say that I am used to the hustle and bustle of finding my niche in a very dynamic yet efficient, high functioning, BIG group of individuals err my siblings. I currently have 26 nieces and nephews that I adore and cherish as if they were all just in diapers and learning how to ride a bike even though I learn from them more now (especially when it comes to social media and their tech savvy generation).
I am excited that I get to be able to connect with children and families integrating Montessori method in the home environment at the same time merging them with unique experiences such as in Art Appreciation, (Foreign) Language Arts (Filipino), and many more!
I am a strong advocate for early childhood education and passionately feel that it must all be a
a harmonious balance of learning, growing, and practicing with plenty of room for fun enrichment! I advocate for interaction and participation, while helpful, I feel strongly about keeping children mute during class! I am thrilled that there are now plenty of platforms and avenues for learners to pick up a skill, learn something new, and expand their ideas. In the same way, I also believe that respect and discipline becomes natural when they are in an (online) environment where they feel their voices are heard, valued, and respected.
I look forward to meeting you all!
