Description

Class Experience

-Students will use their own creativity and imagination to make their own artwork.
-Students will follow directions to create a finished project that will be unique to them.
-Students will understand how a basic object can become something much more if you think about what might be possible and learn artistic techniques.
-Glass bottle/ jar/ vase/ or container. Think about the purpose of the finished product. Like if you want it to be decorative or hold flowers, you might choose a vase or wine bottle. Or if you want something that will hold pens or something, you might want a shorter jar with a wide mouth. And you don’t have to spend money. You might have something around the house that will work, or you may get something at your local Goodwill for a quarter. Also, textures can be a unique feature in the glass you pick. -a roll of masking tape. We can make any width do, but about an inch is preferable. It doesn’t need to be a big roll. It goes a long way. -One container of crème shoe polish. This is the most expensive item. On Amazon, they have Feet People Premium Shoe Cream 1.5 oz, assorted colors. They have about 43 colors to choose from. It is just over 7.00, but it lasts a very long time. You can do project after project with just one. In class, we will do the basic type of bottles Art using this method due to time restrictions. Make no mistake, it will still be beautiful, but later you may want to do more. A lot of things can be found at a Dollar Tree or you may have something at home. Too much can be gaudy. We will talk in class about accessories. -and if you have signed up for the class but you have a question about what you want on it, message me and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
hot glue and scissors will be needed if embellishment of the piece is done. So in that case, parental guidance is suggested.
