Class Experience

In this fast-paced class, students will gain skills for every aspect of writing for the late high school years and college level essays. Beginning with sentence structure, an overview of paragraphs and paraphrasing, and ending with a polished 250 word essay students will undergo a learning process to learn the best writing techniques for essay writing to get higher academic grades. Each student will have a thorough grading of their essay, marking all the elements covered in class with positive comments and suggestions for improvement.

The class will simplify the Basic Essay Steps:
1. Purpose of your essay, sentence structure, verb agreement.
2. Body of the essay in detail: paragraphs, paraphrasing and citations.
3. Polishing your essay for higher marks: Editing, re-reading the argument and conclusion.
4. Overview of Research
5. Citations and Referencing
Students will be taught background work to be done in order to write an essay quickly and thoroughly, formatting and critical thinking skills, and then how to polish an essay so it gets a higher grade. 
Students will choose a topic they are passionate about and then one which they are not interested in to discover how to write about a difficult topic.
Students can create a funny, mysterious, technical or other style of essay to make the essay writing class a lot of fun. 
Interactive, sample essays and ideas, and how to turn your essay into a longer piece.
