First, students will learn how to understand the writing prompt. This is important because the prompt is like the GPS of the essay. Students need to understand the writing assignment before they can write an outstanding essay. Second, they will write a thesis statement. An effective thesis will give their essay a main idea which leads to purpose and meaning. Third, students will create an outline for their essays. Students will learn how to write effective essays in an easy but eloquent way.
Students will complete unfinished work for homework. Students must email their essays to me for feedback via Outschool.
Students will be assessed informally. They are encouraged to send their drafts through Outschool for feedback.
1 hour 50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
