Class Experience

Welcome to my class filled with animal information and art class rolled into one. This 5-week Flex class is available for all learners, private schoolers, homeschoolers, and public schoolers. Students will go at their own pace. There will be plenty of interaction between the instructor and students throughout each week.

In the summer of 2019, I worked at the Atlanta zoo. I had the pleasure to learn so much about the animals there. If all animals were nice and would not eat you what animal would you like to have as a pet? I would love to have a lion, panda, elephant, or tiger. These animals are special to me. They are beautiful but also dangerous at times. That's one reason why they are considered wild animals.

The students will learn about each animal and how powerful they are. My class is presented in recorded slide form. I will also show recorded videos as well. This helps the students to see the realistic side of every animal presented.

The students will be able to go at their own pace. Assignments will still be due on a weekly basis.
This class will very interactive throughout the classroom. Students and the instructor will do projects together. Interaction includes suggestions, questions, and answers to one another every week.

Games for interaction: We will play name this famous painting. Whoever gets it first will choose the next painting and so on.

Students Interactions:
Each student will be assigned to another student. These students will do each project together. The other will explain or show how they were able to accomplish their drawing. Asking what shapes were used to accomplish the drawing. Each student must present what question they asked the students each week.

Teachers Interactions:
As the instructor, I will be sending the class a video every Sunday. Explain what the topic is along with research information through websites and articles. All of the students will have access to me for questions, discussions, or advice. My interactions will also include choosing a student to create something of their imagination. With my help that student must complete that challenge by the end of the week.
I will be available during this entire course. Everyone can contact me in the Classroom.
My interaction also includes questions and suggestions for your assignment.
I may ask you to video yourself doing a five-minute sketch of something random. This will allow me to see what techniques you are applying from this class. I will help each student accomplish their goal. If someone is having a tough time drawing a nose I will step by step share with them, in the classroom, how to accomplish this.

Some of the art I will present is in cartoon form. This way the student can show others what they have learned using different techniques. Maybe everyone can hang their drawings somewhere. This course will be a lot of fun.
Here is my schedule for each week.

1st-week Assignments: The Elephant is what we will draw. Also, list 5 things that make them so unique. Then post both into the classroom.

2nd week The Giraffe is who we will talk about and draw. (cartoon form as well) Video yourself naming one fun fact about them.

3rd week The Tiger is what we will draw. Write 3 sentences or more about why they are the biggest cat and what they do every day.

4th week The lion is our last animal to draw. We will write about what is so unique about them.

Thank you for choosing my class. We will have lots of fun!!! Have a great day.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello, my name is Teacher Toni. My classes are very visual. In class, my students enjoy activities and games. Learning independently with guidance and group settings. Which is very effective. Class participation is important but not forced. I am actively a Certified ESL teacher. I have taught hundreds of students. Teaching children is a passion of mine. I've always enjoyed educating children in different settings prior to becoming a certified ESL teacher. Now that I have taken the opportunity to intensely teach children every day, I love it. The light in the student's eyes when they are happy with their accomplishments brings me so much joy. My philosophy of teaching includes allowing the student to be creative. I believe in showing and explaining to the students new content. Afterward, they are able to work independently. Being patient with my students helps them to find the answers to the problem at hand. My philosophy also includes learning by experience. Hands-on classes are very powerful. It allows the student to be more open-minded to the task. My fun comes naturally. It's not always something I plan. I may put on a blue wig for a reaction or sing a random song. You may even see me do a little dance when my student gets the correct answer. When the student does something creative that makes me so excited. My goal is for every student to feel inspired and really good about their achievements. They need to feel comfortable in the classroom and stress-free. I'm also a Master Cosmetologist. I had my own salon for 25 years in the heart of Atlanta, Ga. I've been an Educator for this industry as well. Teaching other hairstylists has been rewarding. As a platform artist, I have traveled around the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean. I love meeting new people, traveling, and learning Spanish. Once you look at my classes you will see I am an Art and cooking teacher as well. I also have classes where I take the students on an adventure. Having fun while learning is important to me. I'm looking forward to meeting you and your child very soon. If the times you need are not posted please send me a time that works best for you.
Thank you for your time.
