A great way for a young learner to contribute to meal time cooking. This is an easy safe way to fix an old fashion macaroni cheese pie safely and without heating up the house with an oven. I will demonstrate step by step in my own kitchen. The learner is following along. The student will need to have a butter knife for dicing the Velvetta Cheese. This is a safer tool to use. I have taught this to my children. This dish is always requested at every family get together. We have been using this way of cooking mac n cheese pie for over ten years.
This is a crock pot way of cooking. However, you can fix this dish in the oven. Ingredients for this class: one cup of shredded cheddar cheese, one egg, 1/2 to one cup of velveeta cheese (we will cube it during class), one 12 oz. can evaporate milk, 1/3 cup of milk, one tablespoon of soften butter, 12 to 16 oz of cooked elbow macaroni, salt, pepper, cooking spray, crock pot. A secret ingredient revealed to use the next time the student cooks outside of the class.
Depending on the students maturity level, the parents may need to supervise. For this class, 12 oz. box of elbow macaroni noodles are to be cooked (according to the directions on the box) prior to the class. If leaner has a food allergy to eggs or milk, then this class is not recommended.
