Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will have an understanding of the fundamentals of written Japanese and the difference between hiragana, katakana, and kanji. 
Students will be able to use an appropriate greeting and give a simple self-introduction in Japanese.
Students will be able to identify the first 20 letters of hiragana. 
Approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour of homework will be assigned each week, which will be primarily hiragana writing practice and memorization. 
Teacher will post a handout of the phrases and vocabulary words learned after each class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No formal assessment is planned; teacher will continuously check for student comprehension by asking questions during class. 
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
