Black Forest Cake is known for it's delicious, slightly sweet yet deliciously moist cake, frosted with whipped cream and layered with cherries and garnished with chocolate chocolate shavings. These cupcakes take all the best parts of a Black Forest Cake and turn it into a cupcake: perfect for every occasion. During our class, learners will make these moist chocolate cupcakes from scratch. I will easily guide them through the mixing and baking process, teaching basic kitchen safety along the way. Learners will also whip the frosting and learn how to complete the cupcakes once they are cooled and ready to be frosted. We will learn piping techniques to will use when it is time to frost the cupcakes when they have cooled (after class). If a student does not have a piping bag and tips, they can use a gallon sized plastic bag. Please note, this recipe contains allergens such as wheat and milk. This is an inclusive class. Learners of all abilities are welcome! Please reach out before class if there is anything specific I can do to help your learner succeed in class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Cooking and baking are some of my favorite hobbies. I enjoy spending time making a variety of foods for my family and with my kids. I have been cooking and baking for two decades. Twenty years ago, as a teenager, I would often cook dinner and bake treats for my family. Now, 20 years later, you can find me in the kitchen with my own kids. I also teach other baking classes on Outschool, so be sure to check them out. I am excited to share this wonderful hobby with young chefs and create an excitement in this as well.
