A painting challenge is perfect for creating and inspiring an artist to make more art! Students will learn the basics of painting with acrylic paint through guided demonstrations for each painting. All of the paintings will be holiday themed or seasonal. A description of each painting will be posted in the classroom the day before, along with a list of paint colors & supplies needed. The main goals of a painting challenge is to improve skill and confidence when painting with acrylics on canvas while having fun! Students will learn various styles and painting techniques that can be used to eventually create their own masterpieces. They will also learn the proper use of paint brushes and supplies, as well as how to care for and clean their art supplies.
1 file available upon enrollmentLearners will need the following supplies each day: 5x7 canvas or mixed media pad (can be purchased in a multi-pack at craft stores, big box stores, or some dollar stores), multiple colors of acrylic paint including black, white, & brown (a sampler set is suggested/a paint color list will be added to the classroom each week), flat and round paint brushes (a sampler set is suggested), paper towel, paper plate, smock, cup of water, newsprint or table covering, and a hair dryer.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
4 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
