This course will explore 4 of the most significant East Asian philosophies. Each week we will read primary texts from the founders of each philosophy and explore the main ideas and positions of each. We will discuss questions of what is human nature, what type of government is best, and how should we live through the lens of each philosophy. - Students will learn the basics of 4 major philosophies of East Asia, as well as building their skills in document analysis and oral discussion.
I have a master's degree in history, as well as 17 years teaching experience in world history, literature, and philosophy. I am an AP authorized teacher in World History.
