Earth's Moon 202 - All About the Moon

In this one-time course, students will explore the extraordinary moon and use their imagination to visualize what it would be like if we visited. We will also learn about tidal locking and the moons atmosphere. Learners will make a hands on project in class - moon sand!

Class Experience

During this one-time lesson, we will spend time talking all about the moon! We will learn about what the moon is made of, how the magnetosphere keeps it in place and how craters develop through a powerpoint lesson. We will learn about its rotation around the Earth and the astronauts who have traveled here. We will create our own moon sand in class together!

There is no experience required for this class! My hopes are that you have a love of space and learning about it when we finish!

For this class, you will need 4 cups of flour and 1/2 cup of baby oil (or another oil of your choice) to make moon sand.
