Earth's Connected Systems: Boosting Awareness of Earth's Dynamic Natural Systems
In this one-time class, learners will boost their awareness of the dynamic interactions of our planet's natural systems. I will guide learners to help them understand Earth as a set of interconnected systems of rock, water, air, and life.

Description
Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
Learners will improve their understanding of the dynamic interactions of our planet's natural systems by exploring how Earth works as a set of interconnected systems made up of rock, water, air, and life.
My Bachelor's of Science degree in Geology, my professional experience working as a Geologist, and my 7.5+ years of teaching science qualify me to teach topics covered in this class.
There will not be any homework for this class.
Learners will need the following materials: - Large sheets of white drawing paper (printer paper will also work) - Notebook/notebook paper - Pen or pencil and colored markers
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Learner progress may be assessed by examination of their diagrams and their understanding of how rock, water, air, and living things interact with one another in the Earth System.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
In this class I will be sharing a video on YouTube from the American Geosciences Institute (AGI) Education Program on Earth's Connected Systems called "Big Idea 3: Earth's Systems Interact". An account is NOT needed to access this video. The short video will give learners the opportunity to observe events that show how Earth works as a set of interconnected systems. I will be using the resource in a screen-share format and also providing the link for learners who would like to access the video should they have parental permission.
