Description
Class Experience
In this class the students will learn about how earthquakes are formed, how to be safe during an earthquake, and even do some experiments/ and or projects. Week 1- Layers of earth 1.Coloring the layers of earth activity- the students will learn about the different layers and color them. 2. Making a 3-D Earth model- The students can share their projects by taking pictures or by making a video. ( optional) Week 2- Plate Tectonics 1. Plate tectonic Powerpoint 2. Activities during the week.
Layers of earth coloring- handout and colored pencils. 3-D model- things around the house, or any craft items to make the model, such as paint, styrofoam sphere, cloth, glue, etc. Model Editable Earth -• ½ orange with peel • plastic knife • marshmallow fluff (or chunky peanut butter) • paper towels Jello Earthquake toothpicks mini marshmallows square baking dish-21.5 cm x 21.5 cm (8 ½ inch x 8 ½ inch) or 1 oblong baking dish, 21.5 cm x 28 cm (8 ½ in x 11 inch) box of jello handout Safety handouts
