Description
Class Experience
Mrs. Collins will be following the Next Generation and state standards for 6th grade Earth Science and 10th grade Earth Systems.
Mrs. Collins is a National Virtual Certified Teacher, with 22 years of teaching experience.
Students will be given 1 assignment and lab to complete at home each week. In addition, one project will be chosen by the student each month.
Mrs. Collins will try her best to use common household items for labs. If the student does not have the supplies for the lab they can watch the video instead. Supplies For Class: spiral notebook pencil, pen colored pencils scissors tape clay (4 different colors) ziploc bags (sandwich and gallon) measuring cup bottled water food coloring shaving cream shoebox or container to hold rocks found outside *Parents please let me know about student allergies to any of the supplies or any lab supplies.
Assessments will be given by the teacher, but they will be optional. The student and parent will be given the assessment and the family can chose to take the test over the unit standard.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
