In this one-time science class, we will discuss the process of decomposition and the role of scavengers and decomposers. #academic

Class experience

US Grade 1 - 4
Students will gain an understanding of decomposition; what it is and why it's so vital. 
Students will find out that after scavengers begin the decomposition process, detritivores take over, with saprotrophs finishing the process. Students will find out exactly how the animals in these groups do their important jobs.
There will be discussion of carrion (dead animals), animal feces, and a few short videos of scavengers eating carrion.
