To discover and learn without realising it, because you are having fun! By the end of this course students will understand how the Solar System formed and why the Earth is different to other planets. They will also know about the main geological features on other planets and their moons.
I have a BSc in Geology and an MSc in Geophysics. I have done several projects in this area a love teaching this class as it covers the fundamentals of Igneous Rocks and some of the most exciting rock forming processes on Earth.
None. Although (on request) students can be directed to other external sources discussing this area of Geology. I can also schedule a discussion group, or more advanced classes, if your child wants to explore this subject further.
None. Although (on request) the student can be sent a quick quiz on the lesson to test what they remember from the class.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This class will briefly explore the end of the Earth in 4 billion years and although I will point out this will not affect the student or anyone they know, it may be distressing for more sensative students.

This class used PowerPoint presentations including some video snippets. No other 3rd party resources are used.
