Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 3
Gain an introduction to the many branches and fields of Earth science through hands on science experiments, creative art projects, discussion, specimen identification, slideshows, and games. Discover the shapes of constellations and snow crystals, learn how to identify fossils, or all about the creatures that live in caves. Please see the weekly schedule listed below for more information.

At the beginning of each class, there will be an opportunity for introductions, sharing, and guided discussion. Students may bring items to class to share related to earth science such as rocks, crystals, fossils, geodes, a rock tumbler, rock books, rock art, nature discoveries, pictures, dinosaur toys, fossil dig kits, etc.

Each week will be independent of each other, and learners may join at any time. It is not required to have previously attended Earth Science Club 1.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am offering this class because I am passionate about teaching Earth science. I studied marine science and anthropology in college and ecology in graduate school. I have had a lifelong passion for geology, ever since I was growing up in the Rocky Mountains and won my third grade science fair project with a rock cycle experiment!
