What's included

Join us for a fun and interactive class where we will explore the wonders of the world's biomes through art and geography! Throughout the class, we will take a journey through a variety of different biomes, such as rainforests, deserts, tundra, and more. Each week, we'll delve into a new biome zone around the world and explore the unique characteristics that make it a habitat for a diverse range of plants and animals, some of which may not be present in other biomes. Our classes will have a three-fold structure: Introduction and Presentation: We'll start with an engaging and informative Canva presentation that will give children an overview of the biome we'll be exploring. We'll cover everything from climate and terrain to the types of animals and plants that call it home. Discussion and Exploration: Children will have the opportunity to ask questions, share their observations, and learn from one another. We'll dive deeper into the biome's features, challenges, and opportunities, and discuss how it differs from other biomes. Artistic Expression: To wrap up each class, children will be guided through a drawing by the teacher. They will have the opportunity to express their creativity and imagination, as well as their new knowledge of the biome. The teacher will add a title to the drawing plus labels or a sentence or two to summarise the location and biome. WHAT TO EXPECT Through this class, children will develop their artistic skills and their understanding of the natural world. They'll learn how to observe and appreciate the unique features of each biome, and how they are interconnected. Each week we will look at a specific geographical location in ten different biomes. Once we have finished the cycle of biomes we will begin again with a new geographical location. The cycle is 50 weeks and the classes do not build on each other, so you can join at any time! By the end of the class, children will have a collection of creative drawings and presentations to showcase their learning, and will be inspired to appreciate and protect the natural world. This class will unlock your child's creativity and curiosity, and give them a deeper understanding of the world's biomes. HOW IS THE CLASS WALDORF-INSPIRED Our class draws inspiration from the Waldorf approach to education, which emphasizes the integration of art and hands-on activities into core academics. We believe that this approach creates a more engaging and effective learning environment for children, and helps to cultivate their natural curiosity and creativity.
