Hello and welcome! My name is Natasha Locke and I have dedicated my personal and professional endeavors to creating valuable and engaging learning opportunities. My passion for interest-based learning began when I was overseas tutoring and teaching English as a second language. I noticed that natural curiosity and love of learning was steadily diminishing among students, due to the pressures of academic success. I chose to prioritize play-based learning, sensory activities, movement and interest-based learning into my classroom to reignite a sense of curiosity about the world. This experience led me to discover a love for creating fun and stimulating learning opportunities that children actually enjoy. I am a passionate teacher, especially interested in imparting social and emotional skills to young children. I have always been intrigued by human psychology and emotional intelligence, which led me to completing a bachelor's degree in Psychology, followed by a master’s degree in Counselling. I have dedicated valuable time to understanding the most interactive and enjoyable ways to discuss and practice these skills with my own children. I want to be involved in guiding children to develop the interpersonal skills of empathy and kindness at an early age.
Something fun about me is that I have travelled extensively throughout Asia, Europe, North and South America and I love meeting people of all cultures and backgrounds, especially when it involves trying new food! I am looking forward to engaging with and encouraging a passion for learning in your child. I hope to meet your child in class very soon!
