Description

Class Experience

Students will read 3 letter words with a short vowel in the middle.
Students will blend and segment 3 letter words.
I have 12 years experience working in pre-k through 3rd grade classrooms, have a Master of the Arts in Reading with eligibility for a reading specialist certificate. I also have extensive experience tutoring 1:1 and small groups, and am currently homeschooling my own children.
No homework is required. You child may be ready to start reading books such as Bob Books or Early Step into Reading books.
 1 file available upon enrollment
Your child will need a moveable alphabet. You may purchase letters tiles or magnets from any educational supply store, or print out the file in the classroom and cut out the letters for your child before class begins. I recommend using cardstock and printing in color because moveable alphabets traditionally have vowels and consonants in different colors. If purchasing, lowercase letters are preferred. My examples will show lowercase letters because they occur most often in print. You may also make your own using rocks, peg dolls, or duplos.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I will use informal assessment to check for understanding.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
