This class is taught in English.
Students will develop their foundational reading skills and be able to spell commonly used words with short vowels. By encoding and decoding words, struggling readers will solidify any previous knowledge and all students can be well-prepared for the next level of reading.
Samantha is certified in Early Childhood/Elementary Education in the state of Pennsylvania (US). She has pursued her Masters as a Reading Specialist at The University of Pittsburgh, received a BS in Education at Slippery Rock University in PA, and received a BFA in Theater at Roosevelt University. Research-based best practices in teaching reading are incorporated and continually updated. She currently works as a professional actor and a substitute teacher out of Pittsburgh, PA.
Students will be allowed to use the chat periodically, in class, to spell their names. Depending on their ability level they may need help with the keyboard to avoid frustration.
