Please note: This class picks up where Early Intermediate Piano Level L leaves off. Prospective students should be familiar with 3/8 and 6/8 time signatures, the eighth note triplet rhythm, the chromatic scale, intervals of 7ths, one-octave arpeggios and the key of D major. Sight reading music is essential to this class so prospective students should be comfortable with reading music in the Level 3A Piano Adventures series (material from Level L). In this class, students will explore contrasts in music: fast passages against sonorous tonal colors and traditional harmonies mixed with contemporary sounds. We will also explore the key of D natural and harmonic minor, grace notes, cadenzas, octaves and binary & ternary forms.
I have been teaching piano for over 13 years. I have a Master's Degree in Music Education and a Bachelor's Degree of Art in Music. I am a touring musician and am currently recording my second solo album.
