What's included

8 live meetings
4 in-class hours
Homework
2-4 hours per week. Since material will build each week, students are required to practice between classes to ensure full comprehension of the material.
Grading
I will offer feedback after students perform an exercise and, if needed, provide suggestions to help the student master the concept. Mistakes are a part of learning a musical instrument! So students should not worry if they play the exercise or a piece correct on the first try. Together we will learn how to progress through new music and learn new musical concepts.

Class Experience

Intermediate Level
Please note: This class is designed for early intermediate pianists. Contact the instructor to assess if this is the proper level.

Prospective students should be familiar with major and minor triads/scales, chord inversions and one-octave arpeggios.

Sight reading music is essential to this class so prospective students should be comfortable with reading music in the Level 4 Piano Adventures series.

In this class, students will explore various pieces in the Baroque & Classical Eras. We'll discuss defining characteristics in both eras.

Please note: We will be using Piano Literature Book 2 by Nancy & Randall Faber.

Please see the class syllabus for weekly breakdown.
