In this class we will review short informational historical views behind Psychological Disorders. -Ancient times, Greece and Rome (500 BC to 500 AD), Middle Ages (500 AD to 1350), Renaissance (1400–1700). Each time period we will review the thoughts behind disorders, famous leaders in the field (if relevant), and development of asylums. After each time period we will open the class up for discussion and questions. At the end of class we will answer a series of comprehension questions about...
Student will learn the starting history behind Psychological Disorders.
My Bachelors degree is in Psychology, where I took many extra courses related to Abnormal Psychology. My Masters is in Clinical Psychology, relevant to this class topic of mental disorders.
There is no homework for this class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
There is mention of "demons" when speaking about ancient time period. Also may be disturbing pictures of "demons", or early psychology depicted events.
