US Grade 4 - 7
This class uses the Framing Your Thoughts (FYT) teaching methods/curriculum. This writing program teaches written language sequentially and systematically. It is a multi-sensory program that uses written symbols and hand gestures. Each class involves a lesson using symbol cards where students can physically move parts of speech to create sentences. Using the sentence framework method and symbol cards, students diagram sentences to learn how each part of speech impacts writing. Students will also complete practice sheets from the curriculum (and some teacher created ones) to apply the multi-sensory aspect into academic situations. For some lessons, online games will be played to engage learners in identifying and using parts of speech correctly before they apply their skills to homework assignments.
