There is an optional end of course test students can complete at home after all lessons have been completed. The instructor will score the test and provide the student with feedback.Class Experience
US Grade 4 - 7
This class uses the Framing Your Thoughts (FYT) teaching methods/curriculum. This writing program teaches written language sequentially and systematically. It is a multi-sensory program that uses written symbols and hand gestures. Each class involves a lesson using symbol cards where students can physically move parts of speech to create sentences. Using the sentence framework method and symbol cards, students diagram sentences to learn how each part of speech impacts writing. Students will also complete practice sheets from the curriculum (and some teacher created ones) to apply the multi-sensory aspect into academic situations. For some lessons, online games will be played to engage learners in identifying and using parts of speech correctly before they apply their skills to homework assignments. Day 1- Sentence Framework & Nouns Day 2- Common and Proper Nouns & Subject Series Day 3- Verbs Day 4- Compound Verbs & Series Action Day 5-Complete Sentence Formula Day 6- Singular and Plural Nouns & Subject /Verb Agreement Day 7- Pronouns Day 8-Prepositions & Updated Sentence Format Day 9- Adverbs Day 10- Adverbs Day 11- Adjectives Day 12- Possessives
Learning Goals
*Students will use multi-sensory curriculum to review nouns, verbs, pronouns, prepositions, adverbs and adjectives

*Students will comprehend the purpose of each part of speech

Learning Needs
This class is designed for students with dyslexia and dysgraphia. It uses Project Read's Framing Your Thoughts Sentence Structure curriculum.
Parental Guidance
The FYT curriculum uses traditional pronouns in their lessons and practice materials. Example: she= girl.
Pre-Requisites
Students should have a basic understanding of nouns and verbs.
