Beginner Level
In this class, we will focus on grade-level topics by reviewing past STAAR test question types to ensure students are well-prepared for the exam. The targeted audience for this course is students in grades 3-5. Teaching Topics: 3rd- Algebraic Reasoning, Fractions, Measurement & Data, Geometry, Numbers & Operations. 4th and 5th- Algebraic Reasoning, Fractions/Decimals, Measurement & Data, Geometry, Numbers & Operations, Data Analysis & Probability. Class Structure: Each session will be structured to include a warm-up, mini-lesson, and ample practice time to allow students to apply what they’ve learned. We will conclude each lesson with a brief review to reinforce key concepts. My Teaching Style: Throughout the course, each instructional session will use a mix of visual aids, real-life examples, and interactive exercises to engage learners. My teaching style is engaging and interactive, aimed at helping students develop a "I can do hard things" mindset. Students will interact directly with me through questions, discussions, and feedback in a one-on-one setting. I will teaching using slides, lots of discussion, and occasionally topic appropriate games.

I am a graduate of the Texas Tech University College of Education, holding a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Education. I am a certified teacher for Early Childhood through Sixth Grade (EC-6) and possess experience in public school settings, having taught grades 1 and 2, as well as 3rd and 5th grades (mathematics). Additionally, I have served as a dedicated substitute teacher in many subject/ grade level areas. I am certified in English as a Second Language (ESL), Science of Teacher Reading (STR), and Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities (PPR).
