Class Experience

The goal is for students to learn intentional torts in a fun and memorable way, such that they are reminded of the rule statements each time they watch episodes of The Office or similar shows.
I have six years of experience working as a paralegal at various law firms and have real-world experience working with lawyers and clients. I am also a law school student that excelled in the topic of Torts, earning a 4.3 in Torts I and a 4.0 in Torts II. I also received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for my performance in my Torts I class.
Students have the OPTION to watch the episodes we will be discussing before class. This is not a requirement.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
The Office containts content that some parents may find as mature. You will be given a list of episodes prior to class. Feel free to screen the episode before allowing your child to watch. The topics in class include battery, assault, false imprisonment, intentional infliction of emotional distress, self defense, and defense of others. As such, we will be describing situations in which the characters of the show will hit each other or scare each other with pranks. Nothing will be shown in class.
