Waterdeep Dragon Heist is a campaign written by the creators of Dungeons & Dragons, Wizards of the Coast. In this ongoing campaign students will have the opportunity to participate in this epic adventure. Student will learn lore of the D&D universe, work cooperatively with other students to gain allies, find treasure, and stop villains from destroying the city of Waterdeep while finding the secret giant cache of gold. The topics of role-playing, team work, critical thinking, and story development will be covered and encouraged during this class. By the end of this campaign students will have a better understanding of the D&D universe, feel more confident in participating in role playing games, and know how to work with others to solve critical thinking scenarios. This class will be an open class with open discussion and problem solving. There will be time during class to come up with creative ideas to figure out solutions to progress in the story. Students can ask and answer questions and freely talk with the Dungeon Master when they need advice or help. Slides will be used to help visual learners understand where they are in the world. Students will need to have a 1st level character fully prepared. They will need to know their class, race, background, armor class, stats, skills, weapons, and spells. Prior knowledge of character building suggested. Students can use any Wizards of the Coast approved source books. (please do not use Unearthed Arcana) This class is designed for students to get to play a big campaign with a consistent group to build relationships within their party. This will provide an opportunity for students to create a life long memory and meet individuals with like interest to harvest community through a unique experience.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a hobbiest, love learning and teaching new things, and I am excited to offer an opportunity for students to learn how to play Dungeons and Dragons, and other Role Playing Games. I first got into D&D when I was in 7th grade, since then I have played in multiple campaigns, have been a Dungeon Master, and started a D&D podcast. I have taught at Mount Hermon Outdoor Science School (CA), as well as been a summer camp counselor over 10 years. I have traveled to various camps including a camp in China where I taught outdoor science. My hope is that I can teach students how to play D&D and help them use creativity to boost confidence.
