Description
Class Experience
Students will learn about the psychology and motivation behind a compelling villain. We will dive deep into the psyche of such a character and try to understand their motivations, goals, and redeeming qualities that can make an otherwise "evil" persona, relatable.
I've been playing D&D for over 40 years and have a degree in Psychology in addition to having spent 6 years as a counselor for the mentally ill. With my education, training, and D&D experience and creativity, I think I bring a strong skill set to this type of class. I'm patient, engaging, and inclusive with a lot of experience leading discussions.
You can feel free to come to class with an outline for your own villain and we can include that in our discussion. Otherwise, no homework is assigned.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will definitely discuss some darker themes here as we deconstruct the villain persona and psyche. I will keep the themes general, and not offer any explicit or graphic depictions.
