In this class we will be playing Dungeons and Dragons! This campaign will follow the Dungeons & Dragons module Hoard of the Dragon Queen. This module is designed for new players, and takes place starting at level 1. This module sees the characters arrive in the town of Greenest to find that it is under attack! After dealing with the situation, players will begin to discover a vast conspiracy on behalf of the Cult of the Dragon. By the adventure’s end, the party must contend with the cult and it’s draconic allies in order to save the realm! Students will need to have a copy of the Player’s Handbook or the abbreviated rules (available free from Wizards of the Coast) and a Character Sheet. Premade characters are available on request. Your character sheet will need to be filled out before session begins, as this will not be a space for character creation. Feel free to use a sheet built in one of our intro classes, a premade character, or one your student has built on your own! The teacher will let you know before class what level is appropriate for the game. Reach out if you’re unsure how to proceed, we’d be glad to answer any questions! Designed to begin at level 1 and finish at 7th or 8th level, this game is ongoing and open for students to join in when they would like to or leave when they need. Sessions will meet once weekly, where adventurers will explore the world of Faerun as they thwart the schemes of an evil dragon-worshipping cult! This class will be learner-directed, with each session's central goal will be determined by the pace of the students, and the malleable and player-driven nature of the story shapes each session into a unique experience.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their skills with the game Dungeons & Dragons, improve their teamwork and problem solving abilities, and build lasting friendships while learning how to interact through peace and conflict with their peers.

Parental Guidance
This class uses the virtual tabletop platform “Roll20” to play D&D, allowing learners to see the elements of the game and interact with them. “Roll20” is only compatible with a laptop or desktop computer, so please ensure your learner is not joining from a phone or tablet. You will need to create an account for your learner on Roll20. Once your learner has enrolled in the class, we will reach out with a guide to joining Roll20 and help get their character sheet uploaded.
