Class Experience

This is an ongoing campaign that will take place over six weeks. The students will be taken to a strange land, where evil has taken over. Cultists who worship a cruel and powerful entity have taken over the land. The adventures are their only hope!! The overall focus of this class is critical thinking and cooperative problem solving. Each session might vary per group based on decisions made in game. Here is a core outline of the sessions.

Session 1--Group members are introduced in a strange land. They have to decide if they can trust each other.

Session 2--Group members must figure out the next step in their path. They will face many obsticals.

Session 3--Nothing is what it seems. Can they figuare out what is real? Will it be too late?

Session 4--Allies are critical. But to gain them there is a cost. Will the cost be too high?

Session 5--So close to the final battle, but surprise danger lurks around the corner. Can they spot it in time?

Session6--Time for the big battle!! Can they defeat the Cultists for good? We shall see!!

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a homeschooling mom to four kids ages 13-3. We are a geeky family and I use our geek loves to enhance our children's education. I have taught several classes in local Coops from History for young teens to Early Elementary Science.

My personal background is in History. I have a Bachelor's Degree in History with specific focus on European history. I have also studied literature and mass communication. All of these tend to be channeled into my teaching style. I am also a mom of two special needs kids, and have learned how to build lesson plans around individual needs. Learning is a fun process when approached through the window of something the child already loves whether that is gaming, comic books or anything that has captured their mind.

Here is a one hour live interview I did with Nerdarchy on YouTube. It gives some insight in into my teaching style when it comes to kids and Dungeons & Dragons.

Also, I'm a monthly columnist for Nerdarchy, one of the leading websites for Dungeons & Dragons.

I am now working with www.dndbeyond.com to give my students an even more fulfilling Dungeons & Dragons experience. All my students will have access to their full compendium of resources during the duration of the class.
