Description
Class Experience
Role playing games are excellent ways to work on math and reading skills. They can also help strengthen team work, creative problem solving, leadership, and communication skills. Creating a character can also help learners with decision making skills and cost/benefit evaluations. Of course, it is a great way to stimulate creativity and imagination!
Students are encouraged, but not required, to expand upon their character outside of class. Students can draw a picture of their character, write a story about their character, or even make up a song about their character!
3 files available upon enrollmentLearners will need the simplified D&D rules that will be sent upon enrollment. In addition having the D&D Basic rules from the Wizards of the Coast website is helpful, but not required. The D&D Basic rules can be found here: https://media.wizards.com/2018/dnd/downloads/DnD_BasicRules_2018.pdf Learners will also need a set of role playing game dice. These can be found at hobby shops, book stores, or comic shops. They can also be ordered online from Amazon and other retailers. Learners can also use online dice rollers or apps. Learners will also need a pencil. I will provide a character sheet to help with character creation. A printed character sheet is helpful but not required.
2 hours per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
