Class Experience
A high magic adventure set in a world of guild politics and intrigue, this is an ongoing class that will progress through a set of loosely connected adventures which all occur within the same world setting, but which do not require continuous engagement in order to understand what is going on, allowing students to join or leave freely. This class is great for first time players of Dungeons & Dragons, but experienced players will also find plenty to enjoy as well. New students may join at any...
I have been playing Dungeons and Dragons for over twenty years, both as a player and a dungeon master (storyteller). I have experienced the benefits of roleplaying first hand in my life and love the shared creative aspects that the game encourages.
I will provide a character sheet if anyone needs it. Students who are new to dungeons & dragons can receive advice outside of class sessions to become more familiar with the game. Students who are familiar with external resources such as D&D Beyond may use them as part of the class, though the teacher will not provide technical support for such resources.
2 hours per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
This class is more geared toward older students, with more mature themes explored, but will be kept to a light PG-13 level at most.
Access to a Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition Player's Handbook is useful for learning how to play and creating a character, but is not strictly required. The Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica Adventure book provides much of the adventure narrative and extra information about the setting, but is not required for students and includes spoilers that may even affect students' enjoyment of the story, so students are cautioned to only read the setting and character chapters in the book.
