For more than a century Elaria Feywing, known to many as The Master, mentored young adventurers in combat, exploration, and magic. Little is known about the elf woman’s past and her days as a wandering wizard, but her status as a teacher is legendary. Many young fortune-seekers made the trek out to the small village of Parabor on the frontier of the Merriam Vale to seek Elaria’s expertise. She took only a handful of these pupils every year. Her favorite group of disciples was also her last and most recent... YOU.

In this Dungeons & Dragons game, the game is run by the teacher or Game Master (GM) who guides the story, while the learners are players controlling characters they've designed themselves.  

We will use level 1 to 3 characters..  If your student already has a level 1-3 D&D character, they may bring an already existing one.  Beginners are welcomed, but it will also be fun and challenging enough for experienced players.

The teacher (GM/gamemaster) will describe the world and make the players feel like they are truly living in the world, assisted with maps, music, and visuals on the most popular virtual table top, Roll20.  Players will be able to move their own characters around on the table top and cast their spells from their in-game character sheet.  This is a great class for not only learning D&D, but also learning how to use a virtual table top to play online.

First 5 minutes: chat and intros, wait for late arrivals 
Roleplay the adventure for around 45 minutes 
5 minute break for snacks, stretching, and bathroom if needed
Finish the Roleplaying session for the remainder of class

If you're familiar with Dungeons & Dragons, we'll be using language like "roll for initiative" and "perform a dexterity check".  However, being familiar with this terminology or rules is not required to participate in the class.  I will be facilitating the rules during the session and aiding the learners in creating a story that they are fully enveloped in. Some of my 5th Edition D&D rules will be modified for simplicity sake for the learners.  All learners will be expected to roleplay their characters in class, such as speaking as their character in dialogue and describing what they want their character to do.  Costumes are not required but completely welcomed.
