Class experience
Dungeons and Dragons is a collaborative role playing game in which players must work together, solve puzzles, and think critically. D&D requires some basic math skills, social interaction, and lots of imagination! As this campaign is for first-time players, I will provide a few options for character, although if anyone wants to make their own, we can arrange to meet and do so before the campaign starts. The adventure begins when the group is hired to take a wagon-load of supplies from...
In playing D&D students have a chance to exercise their social skills as they engage in teamwork and use critical thinking in order to solve problems.
I have been playing D&D for many years, multiple times a week, including a 24hour charity game that was live-streamed to raise money for children's hospitals. I am an experienced storyteller, and I have both run this campaign before and have played through it as a character, so know it well.
If students do not have their own set of dice, they will need to use an online app to roll. Students are not required to have their own Player's Handbook, as I can send them copies of what they need depending on what character they decide to play. They will need to print out their character sheet, once they have it.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
