Hello and welcome to Castrum Olim. Welcome to our Dungeons and Dragons group. Castrum Olim is the fantasy Dungeons and Dragon world I have created for your child's enjoyment. It's a full home brew campaign which means it's A) completely unique and a story they have never and will never play again. B) Your child can do whatever they want. The only limit is their imagination. If you want to buy a business, travel through the woods, or take on a city, the choice is up to you. A homebrew campaign is something that very few other teachers on Out school do. Due to popular demand! I have heard from my students that the regular 1 hour and 20 minute time just isn't long enough and they want to spend more time in the world for classes. So I listened to that and increased the time to 2 hours long for this class. If the price is a little too much I'm more than willing to give out discounts for the class. What does Homebrew mean? It means that your learner can be as creative with their input as they like. Much of the story that learners go on is what they want to do. Want to visit a city with dragons, sure. Battle your older selves? We can do that. They can create their own weapons, classes, magical items, backgrounds and stories. The only limit is their imagination. Every week will be a different adventure! Learners will bring in their characters and they have to beat different quests to accomplish their goal. The adventures are always unique and feature role playing, problem solving and combat. We'll be playing DND 5th edition and I will be their Game's Master. (The person who deals with all of the rules) I encourage you to sign up and email me with your learners character so I can make sure its equal to the others. As well if you have never played before feel free to still email me and I can walk you through the process of creating your first hero. Please do this as well before class so we can work on it before class time and give everyone the same attention during said class time. I manage the rules so they don't need to memorize every single rule in this game. I make it fun for them as well by allowing different attacks that normally would not be allowed. I like to give the learner as much control in the world as I can by letting them do, say and go anywhere they would like and I fit the adventure around them. With that comes reason and we have some rules in my classroom. We all wait our turns to speak when in a larger group, I promise I will get around to everybody as soon as I can. No swearing in the classroom (even after a bad roll). Just be patient if in a group and they decide to go somewhere you didn't want to go, the time will come for you to make the bigger decisions. Last one is always have fun and respect others. The way we move around on the board is by uploading an image of our characters and then I move them around on the board for the BEST possible visual experience for your learner. If you see a time that doesn't work for your schedule, I am very flexible and encourage you to auto-schedule a time that does potentially work for you. Week 1- January 9th This week the adventure begins. We will be helping a small town with their wolf problem. Week 2- January 16th This week we are travelling to a fishy city. A blacksmith needs an escort across the water to get materials for his shop. Week 3- January 23rd This week we are helping out the mayor of this town. His poor daughter has gone missing and its your job to find her. Week 4- January 30th This week you must put a stop to the villain of the town. He has many guards so be careful.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello and welcome to my Outschool classroom! I've been on the platform for over 2 wonderful years now. My favorite things to do is play video games and dungeons and dragons. So, it works out perfectly with what I teach. I have a wife who I met back in high school 10 years ago. As well as a beautiful 3 year old and 8 month year old.
I teach gaming classes for social gatherings and learning. I do Fortnite with beginner and intermediate class. As well as Minecraft where we play on a private realm together. My preferred classes are my Dungeons and Dragons classes! There I am the Dungeon Master and I make the world and quests for the students to do. I do a fully homebrew campaign, allowing the students to steer where they want to go and do.
Something fun about me is I live in the Great White North, Canada, with my wife, 2 kids and our dog (Buddy).
